RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2009

Contest Description

The aim of the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards (YPA) is to encourage young people’s interest in photography and show their appreciation and understanding of the animals around them.

For 19 years the YPA has been a regular feature in our calendar and it now attracts thousands of entries from young people throughout the UK and Ireland. The event has been sponsored and supported by Olympus for the past 17 years and this continued support has enabled the competition to go from strength to strength.

This is the fourth year the awards have been co-sponsored by Olympus and Warners Midlands and the additional sponsorship from Warners has enabled us to produce a stunning calendar showcasing last year’s winners.

In 2007 we added the pet personalities category which has proved to be an extremely popular category. In 2008 the standard of photos was so high that the judges awarded the first runner-up prize in this category. This award aims to encourage young photographers to look at their pets more closely and capture their personalities to produce engaging photographs close to home.

Contest Prize & TERMS

Prize Details:

Eligibility: Under 19 years, UK and Ireland residents only

Copyright: Entrants must be the sole copyright owner of all photos they enter into the Competition. Entrants warrant that their entry does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person. Entrants retain copyright rights in their submitted photos and, where possible, the Promoter will credit them. However, by entering, all entrants give the Promoter a worldwide royalty free licence to use, reproduce and exhibit the submitted photos in all media, only for the purposes of promoting or publicising this Competition or future RSPCA Young Photographer Awards. Any further use of the photos will be agreed with the entrant under a separate agreement.
