The field of photography has never before seen so much diversity of technology driven imagery. From the popularity of the DSLR and high-tech I Phone to the low tech plastic Holga camera, photographers are getting their shots of how they perceive and experience the world.
The DSLR has made a big impact on the digital revolution, but we still have photographers using alternative process, pin hole cameras and vintage 35mm cameras. How does technology influence contemporary photographers in their quest to interpret and understand their artist practices and give meaning to their artistic visual process of creating imagery.
For this exhibition we would like to see a diversity of imagery from point and shoot, DSLR, cell phones, computer based imagery, Photoshop, Lightroom, the influence of the internet, the zone system, solarization, f stops and shutter speeds, reverse processing, Hipstamatic, scanners, platinum printing, black and white and beyond…
