Canon EYEcon is a photography competition created especially for New Zealand’s emerging photographers to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience.
This is the ultimate photo opportunity to inspire and be inspired. Explore your creative directions, pitch yourself against the best in your field, and boost your career in photography.
There are some very attractive Canon prizes to be won including the unique opportunity to spend three days gaining invaluable experience with three of New Zealand’s most prominent photographers.
The completed registration form needs to be submitted to Canon New Zealand by 5.00pm, 3 September 2012
Your submission will need to include:
A selection of four original photographic images of professional quality created after 01/01/2012.
Explain in 500-1000 words what your brief for your portfolio was, and what, and who inspires you as an emerging photographer.
Confirmation of eligibility from your photography institute or current photographic employer by way of entry application form.
CATCH THE JUDGE’S EYE
Entrants will be judged on demonstration of your ability as a photographer to think laterally. Creativity, originality, print quality and technical expertise will all form part of the judging criteria.

ELIGIBILITY: Tertiary students & assistant photographers within New Zealand. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: Entrants must be the legal copyright owner of photographic works entered and copyright of the work remains with the holder.
USAGE RIGHTS: Canon New Zealand, reserve the right to use the photographs and reproduce illustrations of selected works for publicity specifically relating to Canon EYEcon for a period of two years after the event. Any photo used in the publicity of Canon EYEcon that is not from the winning portfolios will be paid $100NZ dollars in return for the use of the photo. The photographer will be noted against all photos used. Any other use will need to be agreed in writing with copyright holder.
