Contest Prize & TERMS
PRIZE DETAILS: The World Press Photo of the Year wins €10,000 and expenses to travel to Amsterdam for the Awards Days in April. The winner also receives one of Canon's latest professional digital cameras and a Golden Eye Award.
In each category, both the photographer of the best single picture and the photographer of the best picture story receive a cash prize of €1,500 and a Golden Eye Award, together with sponsorship of their trip to Amsterdam for the Awards Ceremony. Winners of second and third prizes, and those receiving honorable mention, receive a Golden Eye Award and a diploma.
The prize-winning pictures are presented in a traveling exhibition through more than 100 cities in over 45 countries

USAGE RIGHTS: If your material is selected as the World Press Photo of the Year 2012, you grant World Press Photo permission for its unlimited use for activities under the auspices of World Press Photo, without any remuneration being due.
You grant World Press Photo permission to use prize-winning material in all media, including online, in relation to the contest, the exhibition, the yearbook, and all promotional activities for World Press Photo, without any remuneration being due. This permission is limited to an 18-month period from the announcement of the 2013 awards and is applicable only if the material is selected by the jury.
You grant World Press Photo permission to use material submitted in the contest and selected by the jury indefinitely and without any remuneration being due, in its online archive showcasing the results of previous contests.
